A versatile performer, her operatic repertory
includes the roles of Charlotte (Werther),
Madame de Haltière (Cendrillon), Female
Chorus (The Rape of Lucretia),
Charlotte (A Little Night Music), La Voix de La Mere (Les Contes d'Hoffmann),
Hannah (world premiere of The Alien Corn), Marcellina (Le Nozze di Figaro), and Zita (Gianni Schicchi). She
has also performed concerts of opera arias and ensembles with the Opera
Camerata of Washington, and has been a member of the Baltimore Symphony
Orchestra’s Holiday Spectacular Ensemble for the past four years.An avid recitalist, Ms. Moroney has performed various recitals throughout the United States and internationally. She was invited to participate in a concert tour of Russia (Transatlantic Dialogues) with two other singers, performing Russian and American opera and art songs at master classes and concerts, which were met with resounding success. Her many recitals have featured a musical spectrum from Bach through contemporary composers such as Luciano Berio, Sergei Slonimsky, Jake Heggie, György Ligeti, and John Musto. Ms. Moroney is committed to promoting and exploring the work of living composers, especially in the expanding American song repertoire.
As an oratorio soloist, she has sung with the Brown Memorial Park Avenue Presbyterian Church, Masterworks Chorale, Johns Hopkins Symphony and Chorus, Fairlington United Methodist Church, the Peabody Percussion Ensemble, and the Left Bank Concert Society.
Ms. Moroney covered the role of the Female Chorus at the Chateauville Foundation's production of The Rape of Lucretia as a member of their newly founded Young Artist Program, and was also the Mezzo Soprano Artist-In-Residence for Dayton Opera. She received a Masters of Music and a Graduate Performance Diploma in Voice Performance at Peabody Institute of Music of the Johns Hopkins University.
